The Science project....and the amazing house....

Lets face it....there were but two main competitors for winning the Science project. The group with Shubhomoy et al.....and us..Rajdeep, Sanjit, Sidhharth, Nishant..Gaurav..(Who else were there?).

After going through several magazines that Mrs. Das( class teacher then)gave us, we decided on a motion sensing alarm. We even got all the parts that were listed in the magazine (@ Gaurav: Remember the frequent visits to Chandni during school hours?). But, it turned out that the idea was far fetched and the motion sensing was asking for a bit too much. As a last resort, I went to one of my cousin's friend, who made us a simple light sensing alarm. Little did I know then that Shubhomoy will go to a shop which did stuff like that professionally!!!

None the less, whats important was that...we left no stones unturned to win...we came up with a house that was way better than theirs...(what say Rajdeep, Siddharth??)...the alarm was placed at the gate...so all it did was .... every time you put your hands through the door..it would set off the alarm....but...the house had a garden...colored walls....fence...the most amazing piece of art. The other group did some crazy laser shit...with mirrors and all...

Well..they did win and got the prize...but what the Hell....we had our share of fun while making the rocking house...

P.S. If you guys remember...the alarm was unstable throughout....and we kept getting mad at each other everytime it broke down....it was just for show for the last part of the exhibition :D

  1. I was with subhomoy.....and we used a lazer and a light detector to sense intrusion......every time the light was obstructed, the light did not reach the detector and the alarm went off......it was cool with no glitches at all .....i remember meeting Mrs.Peacock from Bishop Cottons, Bangalore (my old school) at the exhibition.......i think there was a girls team that madea overtank water overflow exhibit.....it sucked ....ha ha....

  3. Hmm... I remeber that very well....but may be you ppl forgot our other two projects as well.... the circulatory system aka the durga pujo lightning we made ....lolz......we tried to show the circulation of the pure and the impure blood....oooo....it was a complete mess...and shashank made great fun of it.....the most interesting part was as I think the project made my shashank and myself....I think that was the most intersting project of the lot.....if u guys remember our project roughly looked like a first aid box ;) given the shape of a demon...placed on a white piece of cloth with a tape recorder below tuned in to the frequency of the microphone inside.....then I was standing in front and shashank at the back......ooo what a fool we made of those small kids....we knew that there were no prizes for us as every one knew that it was a simple microphone setup.....but indeeed we made a lot of effort in taking that out from a working mic and then putting it inside that box.....we made great fun....ppl asked questions abt their future , bfs , gfs and all crazy stuff and then there were me and shashank giving hillarious replies.....and those stupid faculties were not even interested in our project....anyways we had such great fun... :)

  4. ha ha ha @sid i do remember that thing.... it was grt yaar.
i also got a first certificate once without doing anything, i was in disco deva's grp. He with lots of enthusiasm and aesthetic sense made a human eye with small diwali lights and other stuffs at his home only. i saw that stupid thing on the day of exibition only wid other people but still i got the prize for it.

and the one with abir , we all had to pay Rs 50 which was quite an amount then. it was worth it though we had a ready made alibi to skip school and visit chandni. as far as i remember that thing stopped working within 15 mins after it was installed.
one constructive thing that i did was made a nice king sized bed for that house of ours :) though it was discarded....
